Welcome to the first edition of the Majestic Motorsport newsletter: Splash & Dash. Roughly every month during the season, we'll bring you C1 endurance racing reports, team updates and our latest offers on available race seats - exclusive to newsletter subscribers.
Sun stays out at Pembrey Despite a very wet Friday test, we had blue skies for both race days and even a touch of sun burn over the course of the BARC meeting weekend of the 8th and 9th June at Pembrey.
A litany of stop go penalties for track limits did for our chances of overall results in both races, but our customers Alan, Richard, Keith and Oli enjoyed themselves anyway over the course of the weekend in #Bungle421, with Richard racking up no less than 24 overtakes in race one during his 80 minute stint! Well done Richard!!
Majestic Motorsport will be returning to the scene of their podium placing September 6-8th for the Anglesey 24hr, with customers Geoff, Jonathan and Greg - this time in their own new build car #382, which we've had the honour of putting together and running for them.
Veteran of Spa 24hr and survivor of Silverstone 24hr, our arrive & drive car #Bungle421 will also be joining them on the grid, and we already have a few regulars lined up to race in him. If you'd like to join them please get in touch and take advantage of £100 off for seats booked during July!
Classic Trackdays We're not all about C1 racing here at Majestic Motorsport, during June we organised a trackday for a customer of ours in two recently purchased classic race cars - a Ginetta G4 and a land speed record breaking Mini Marcos.
| The cars arrived to us several weeks prior, and we carefully checked and overhauled each, updating safety equipment and going through the suspension, brakes and cooling systems. |
During the trackday we provided support and hospitality, as well as transporting the cars to and from the circuit.
With decades of restoration, engineering and race experience the crew at Majestic can turn their hand to almost any classic or race car project so drop us an email if you have a car that needs preparing or an event you'd like us to support.
#Zippy341 rises from the ashes After a wonderful debut at Croft earlier in the year, where he held fastest lap for a period of the race, our new for 2019 car #Zippy341 had a serious off at the Silverstone 24hr meeting. After an extended visit to the pits early Sunday morning, he did eventually manage to finish - in the top half of the order. Back at base, once we had removed the structural gaffer tape, it was clear that the damage was extensive and the road to recovery would be a long one.
However, reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated, and we've now gathered the parts for his reconstruction. We hope to have him out for Croft at the end of the year.
| That's it for this edition, but we'll be back next time with a race report from Snetterton, exciting news of our latest build "Colin" and an update on our MX-5 Mk3 endurance race car. |
